Hello,
Since we (Dan N., Joyce, Adam and myself) have released the short featurette ‘Dennis,’ people have been nothing but supportive of it. It was such an awesome experience making it and getting the overwhelming feedback/love, so we decided to pursue with the original goal of Dennis, and that was to make a series. I wrote the entire series out, and we even started shooting episode two. Sean Brown even came in to guest direct, and it was loads of fun. We even released a teaser for it months back.
Since then, the big question is: When is episode two coming out?
Our answer: We have no idea.
The entire episode has been shot, and I even had an edit of the live-action part that just needed Joyce’s animation…however, I decided to clean start my computer and have since then upgraded to CS5, which apparently can’t open CS3 files…which I edited Dennis 2 in. So it’s gone. No worries, a simple re-edit is all I need to do.
A lot of you asking are friends or friends of friends, so you probably know how busy we all have been: Dan N. with his MCAT, Joyce with her LSAT/moving onto law school, Adam with his new full time job and myself doing nothing. Some of you may not know, but we’ll also all working on a new short I wrote that is currently titled ‘The Beach.’ We are teaming forces with Kyler Dennis and team to bring it to life. This is the biggest project I’ve ever been apart of, and I can not wait to move into production in the late fall.
BUT, the main reason Dennis 2 hasn’t been out yet is because of HitVidi. We entered Dennis in for a chance to get picked up by HitVidi, which is like a Youtube of webseries where we would have a deal and they’d be the host of the series ‘Dennis.’ We have had no word from them, so, even if we have episode two done, we couldn’t release it. If we don’t hear from them mid-August, we may just move on and host it ourselves, but who knows.
Either way, Dennis 2 WILL be released. Joyce and myself even gave ourselves a deadline. Since we first made Dennis, things have been moving super fast for all of us (which is not a bad thing), but Dennis is something we all love and will continue doing.
If you read this whole thing I congratulate you.
Thank you for all the support and keep rockin’ them Dennis tees,
Dan B.
